Think of when you go to a supermarket and you pay by card , unless you go to a supermarket that has a loyalty program and you get your loyalty card out, the POS terminal doesn't tell the retailer if you're a new or returning customer, demographics, gender, etc. Unlike e-ecommerce, in physical retail customer identification always had to be a separate step because the payment terminal is not built to self-identify the paying customer. Hence, a plethora of valuable data is lost or underutilized. Position Overview

As a Sales Executive focusing on merchant acquisition at Zeal, you’ll play a critical role in driving Zeal’s growth by bringing new merchants on board. You will identify and engage target retailers, showcase the value of Zeal’s payment solutions, and manage the entire sales process from prospecting to closing deals. Your focus will be on helping merchants understand how Zeal’s smart payment terminal solutions can enhance customer engagement and drive loyalty, ultimately supporting their business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prospecting & Lead Generation: Identify, research, and approach potential merchant clients who could benefit from Zeal’s solutions.
  • Product Presentation: Present and demonstrate the unique features of Zeal’s payment terminals, highlighting the customer engagement and loyalty programs integrated within.
  • Sales Cycle Management: Take ownership of the entire sales process, from the initial outreach to contract negotiation, ensuring merchants see the value of partnering with Zeal.
  • Merchant Relationships: Build lasting relationships with merchants, acting as their go-to point of contact for any questions or concerns, and offering tailored solutions that meet their needs.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams (e.g., onboarding, customer success) to ensure seamless integration and support for newly acquired merchants.
  • Sales Targets: Consistently meet and exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets, staying motivated to drive results and grow the business.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of proven success in sales, preferably within the payments, retail, or SaaS sectors.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously, with a proactive and results-driven approach.
  • Familiarity with POS terminals, retail payment systems, or customer loyalty solutions is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
